Are you bad at home maintenance? Don’t worry; home maintenance doesn’t need to be difficult. Whether you are living in your new home or a place you’ve been for many years, it is good to know how to maintain it.

Using this guide, you can find a checklist for keeping up with your home’s maintenance.

Immediate tasks

  • If something gets damaged at home, the best thing to do is fix it as soon as you can. For example, your roof might have been damaged from bad weather. You can get storm damage roof repair and make sure that your home doesn’t experience extensive damage. If it does, more problems could occur. When you get these things fixed right away, your home can remain safe for everyone. Plus, it will be much easier to maintain.
  • Likewise, if something in the home gets damaged, try to fix it as soon as you can to maintain appearance and safety.

Daily tasks

  • Get in the habit of making your bed each morning.  This is such a simple habit, but it sets the tone for the entire day!
  • Cleaning off kitchen surfaces such as tables and countertops after meals prevents dirt from building up.
  • Another one to add to the home maintenance checklist is washing or loading dishes in the dishwasher. You would prefer to keep your kitchen clutter-free and problem-free, right? So try to implement this.
  • Spend five minutes each day picking up general living areas like the living room or the dining room so that they look less cluttered.
  • When your mail arrives, go through it over the wastebasket to quickly pitch the junk mail and the things you know you won’t want. You can put the rest in a folder or basket that’s handy for the next stage.

Weekly tasks

  • Set aside time each week to vacuum carpets and mop hard floors to remove dust, dirt, and pet hair.
  • Regularly changing your bed linens and towels helps maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of your room and provides a clean and comfortable sleeping and bathing environment.
  • Make certain to examine the sinks, toilets, and showers to ensure they are clean. This will help prevent soap scum and mold from building up.
  • Empty trash cans and recycle bins in various rooms of your house to keep odors away. Additionally, it prevents the can or bin from filling up and a mess from being made.

Monthly tasks

  • When removing spills, stains, and food residue, be sure to deep clean kitchen appliances like the refrigerator, oven, and microwave.
  • Scrub out unsightly mold and mildew in the shower and bathtub. Clean mineral deposits off showerheads and faucets. Bleach dingy grout and replace leaky fixtures and chipped tiles. Wash windows and window sills so natural light can brighten rooms.
  • Examine lavatories, kitchen area, and washing room intended for water damage, mildew, or leaking and resolve problems, should there be the first preventive procedures.
  • One should inspect and remove all dust and/or debris from ceiling fans and light fixtures and replace them if necessary. This will help optimize the flow of light the fixture provides and the circulation of air in the room.
