About Julieverse

Julie is the owner and editor of Julieverse.com, founded in May 2009. A freelance writer, she writes an education column for different blogs and specializes in parenting, education, organization, and travel. She has written for Yahoo’s Shine! as a Parenting Guru columnist, the Playgroups to Preschool column at Scandinavian Baby’s blog, for Baby Center’s Momformation Blog as a recurrent guest writer, and as a Senior Writer and Editor for Mommies with Style since 2005 and many other websites such as P&G Every Day, Playcation and Marie Callender’s Blog. She’s been quoted in the New York Times & Pittsburgh Tribune, as well as published through the MCT Syndicate nationwide, several Dallas and Philadelphia area newspapers, Mailbox magazine, Project You Magazine, and more.

Off the internet, she served as Director of the Parent/Teacher Organization at her children’s school (PTO) for four years and is now in the position of Past Director, as well as being a member of the school’s board of directors. She previously served in roles as President and Vice President of her local MOMS Club as well as advisor for the Villanova chapter of Chi Omega Fraternity.

A former elementary school teacher (grades 2, 4, and 6 in inclusive and special education classrooms), professional journalist, and marketing and PR rep, Julie has worked on accounts including Pizza Hut, Long John Silvers, and the Tejas [sic] Girl Scout Council.

As a blogger, Julie has worked with numerous companies, small businesses, and corporations and has represented Lilly Pulitzer and Yahoo! Shine as a You! Reinvented representative, Ragu, as a What’s for Dinner? Blogger, Staples in their Holiday Blogging Campaign, Bravado as a Bravado Mama Ambassador, BitDefender as a BitMom, Insect Lore as a Buggin’ Blogger, Microsoft as a Windows Phone representative, a member of the Sony Mom Bloggers club, a KidWorth Ambassador, and a Marie Callender’s Blogger (to highlight a few). Julie is currently a Member of the Office Depot Ambassador team and enjoys a relationship with Pfizer as a Pfizer Get Old Blogger roundtable member.

Julie is enjoying time on the speaking circuit, recently having spoken at Blogher11, Bloggy Boot Camp, and NAWBO Philadelphia on topics of Public Relations and Social Media, at TypeA Parent (fashion roundtable leader) and PA Conference for Women as a website auditor.

Julie is available for spokesperson opportunities, speaking engagements, consulting, and freelancing. A leading influencer, she welcomes national and local campaigns.

Julie is a lifetime Philadelphian, save a few years of college at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where she received her BA in Corporate Communications and Public Affairs. In 1998, Julie received her Masters of Education in Elementary Education with a focus in Special Education. She currently resides with her husband and 3 children in the West Chester, PA, area.

She’s been called a “real-life google” and a “momcyclopedia.” She values her reputation as a resource for parents. She relies on her spirited, friendly disposition, that is evident in both her writing and video, to continue to help her to connect with parents across the world.
