6 Major Signs You May Not Be Healthy

A healthy lifestyle is key to longevity, and can be achieved in various ways, from exercising to eating a healthy diet. While finding some time to take care of your health can be beneficial, sometimes the pressures of work and life can cause you to fall into some unhealthy patterns that can affect your health. Your body is normally a reflection of what is happening inside your system, and not paying attention to your symptoms can cause problems. This article explores six major signs that you may not be healthy.

  1. Food cravings

Craving for a specific food may seem harmless, but it could be a symptom of a health issue. If you have been craving junk food, you need to take a closer look at your health. Succumbing to your desire can lead to diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and heart problems. As well as registering at a trusted weight loss clinic, you can do a lot of work yourself to help with problem eating. Hormonal imbalance can be the reason why you are craving salty snacks in the middle of the night. Other factors could be chronic stress, low blood sugar, and a lack of vital nutrients like protein, B vitamins, and essential minerals. To reduce or eliminate such cravings, consider drinking enough water, reducing stress, and getting much-needed rest. Also, you can add lean sources of protein to your diet to curb late night hunger.

  1. Extreme fatigue

Extreme fatigue leads to low energy levels even if you have been resting all day. Though it may be a direct result of obesity, physical exertion, or the lack of it, it is also caused by anemia, an overactive thyroid, and an autoimmune disorder. It might be time to visit your doctor if you can’t trace the action or reason why you feel so tired. If you have tried to get more rest, change your eating habits, and relax, and you notice you are still tired, make an appointment with your doctor. Inflammation in your body can also be a reason for your constant tiredness. An anti-inflammatory diet made up of good fats like omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and a lifestyle change can help your body recover. You can also visit sites like https://www.ivboulder.com/curcumin to learn about IV therapy treatments to help you reduce inflammation and fatigue.

  1. Insomnia

Insomnia can keep you awake all night or cause you to sleep for short hours. It is also easy to mistake it for your active hours. This sleeping disorder can have adverse effects on your health if it is not addressed. It drains your energy, affects your mental health, reduces your performance at work or school and increases your blood pressure or the risk of heart disease. If you have been eating heavy meals late at night, consider putting a stop to this habit. This is because it leads to heartburn, which affects your ability to sleep. Certain medications that contain caffeine and other stimulants can disrupt your night’s rest as well. Consider talking to your physician so they can recommend a better alternative. Before you go to bed, avoid taking coffee, cola, smoking, or taking nicotine products. Your age can also be a contributing factor to insomnia. As you get older, you experience changes in your health, which can cause you pain, making it difficult for you to sleep. If you are a woman, menopausal symptoms like hot flashes and night sweats can make bedtime uncomfortable. Again, your healthcare providers can offer helpful solutions to this issue.

If you find yourself not sleeping due to stressing and worrying about the smallest of things then it might be coming from a deeper rooted issue. These can build up slowly over time and show themselves in a variety of ways. If you do think there is something else causing your stress levels to go through the roof then you might want to look into counseling or therapy. A women’s trauma recovery program might also be something that can help you.

  1. Abdominal pain

Abdominal pain occurs in the belly region between your pelvis or ribs; it can be sharp and unpleasant, causing you to stop in your tracks or feel nauseous. The pain in your abdomen could come from anywhere as it houses various organs like your stomach, liver, gallbladder and intestines. While mild or severe sensations are common, the pain can also be cramps or burning. If you have been feeling constant pain, it is advisable to see a doctor immediately. Before you attribute your abdominal contractions solely to spicy food or menstrual periods, it is important to note that serious factors like gallstones, kidney infections, peptic ulcer disorders and urinary tract infections. Ensure you keep a record of where and how often you feel this pain so you can give a correct account to your doctor. Also, avoid eating foods that are hard to digest and stay hydrated. Use home remedies like ginger or peppermint to relax your intestinal muscles.

  1. Fluctuating weight

It can be frustrating to deal with fluctuating weight. You are constantly on a scale or looking for ways to either lose or gain weight so you can achieve your desired weight. It is important to check the food and drinks you consume, as they usually have a direct effect on your fluctuating weight. For instance, foods with high salt can cause fluid retention, while carbohydrates hold water in your body, leading to bloating. Other causes can be stress, an unhealthy diet, inadequate bowel movements, and a lack of sleep. While daily and weekly fluctuations can be normal, if you lose or gain six pounds within a few months, see a healthcare professional. If you follow a healthy diet and still face this issue, consult with your nutritionist for a new meal plan.

Don’t forget to look after the pets of your household too. Pet weight is something that can influence the quality of health your pet has, so good dog food is also important to incorporate to help your fur family members.

  1. Constantly sick

Once in a while, you can catch or cold or feel feverish. If this begins to happen frequently, it is a major sign that something is wrong healthwise. It could be your diet or a weakened immune system. It could also be a lack of vitamin D. It would be helpful if you take a walk or sit outside for 10-15 minutes to soak up some sunlight. You can eat fatty fish or take supplements for any nutrients you may be lacking. It’s also important to stay on top of your hygiene practices and ensure your oral health is good.

Staying healthy is essential for a satisfying life. With these signs, you can easily tell when you are not in good health and take preventive and curative measures.
