december meal plan family dinner menu

I was SO wanting to cook on the grill last night. With 65 degree weather at 5 pm, I'm kind of wondering what stopped me. But, if I'm honest with myself, it's that I didn't want to fight the hectic 5 pm grocery store mob to get burger buns. Instead we stuck with the plan and had a delicious baked potato soup. Onward! This week's menu plan has several easy soups and crock-pot dinners, plus another version of turkey meatloaf that will make my family's warm hearts sing. And because … [Read more...]

Recipes and a Meal Plan for November; Includes Thanksgiving Leftovers Ideas

meal plans for your family's november menu

I came up with a brilliant plan last week. One of the kids owed me about an hour and a half of my life, because he or she might have wasted it in a temper tantrum. It was only fair, really, for me to require said child to give me that hour back by being my right-hand-man (or woman.) So, last week, this child started cooking dinners while I sat back and gave directions. I love cooking, but I love watching the kids learn about cooking even more. Watch out, kids. You may soon be creating my grocery … [Read more...]

What are you eating this November? Here’s an easy meal plan for the month

meal plans for your family's november menu

Middle has been begging for chili all last week. And begging in the most un-obnoxious way, so it has me laughing. Every time he smells anything cooking, no matter where we are, he comments, "you know, I feel like I smell chili. Wouldn't that be a great dinner?" And when we're eating dinner each night, he's made some sort of a comment like "this is good, but, you know, it's not quite chili." It's definitely helpful that chili is on the menu plan this week. I may have to make 3 times the normal … [Read more...]

Another day, another dinner. And what's on the menu for you? Crockpot Chicken Stew? Of course it's on the menu! At least four times this month, right? Oh, wait. You don't know what's on the menu all month yet. And, come to think of it, serving the same thing 4 times in 30 days is pretty boring, isn't it? You'll have a strong idea of how to balance your meals through the month, you'll always feel prepared at the 4 o'clock … [Read more...]
