The California Wine Club, a discount, and a giveaway

Ladies (and gents, of course), I have one word for you: WINE.

Did you relax? Did you get a tiny bit excited? Did you think “ahhh. Relaxation. Calming down after a long day.”

Yeah. I did to.

Calif Wine Club Premier

So when I was approached by the California Wine Club to try out three months of Premium Club membership, you can imagine my response. Two bottles of wine delivered to my house? Well, I would love that!

But I live in Pennsylvania, and we have horrible (opinion here, but a very common opinion!) liquor laws. So, I checked: The California Wine Club is available in Pennsylvania. (It’s actually available in all US states except Utah. So, score! I guess PA doesn’t have the worst liquor laws!)

I knew the general date to expect to receive the shipment, and I anticipated it. I scheduled a date night at home with my husband. I went out and bought nice cheese and crackers. Years ago, before kids, we used to sit on the deck of our tiny apartment and enjoy wine and cheese date nights.

Delivery was easy, though an adult did have to sign for it. So, I need to make note that for subsequent deliveries I either need to have a plan for it’s arrival or leave a note to deliver to a neighbor, or have it delivered to my “work.” I had to take a picture of the packaging.

Not only was it an instant toy for my kiddos, but it was so well packaged. I was curious how they could ensure it wouldn’t break. They took care of that with very Styrofoam packaging that fit solidly in the box.  I also really appreciated the information they provided with the wines, including a rating option to help me remember the wines and my impressions.

Now, the wines. I’ll admit that I’m still learning about wines. What’s good; what’s not good; what I like; what I don’t like. I was sent a Zinfandel and a Chardonnay. The Zinfandel was okay. A little sharper than my taste, but I’m not much of a red wine drinker. By the third sip I was enjoying it all the same. We enjoyed it with a steak dinner one night. The Chardonnay was perfect for my wine and cheese date night.  Not too summery (though I wouldn’t have complained over summer, either), it was great for a warm night on the deck, bundled in fall-weather clothes.

Try it! 10% discount at The California Wine Club

The California Wine Club is offering my readers two specials right now. First, you can gift a membership to any of their clubs at 10% off using code justprecious (memberships start at $36.95, so this is a great holiday gift). That same code will get you not just 10% off, but also an additional free bottle of wine if you sign up for your own membership for the first month–meaning 10% off the $36.95 for three bottles of wine. Nice.

Win it! Giving away a Premium Club month at The California Wine Club

The discount is awesome and totally worth it, but so is the opportunity to win, right? So, along with The California Wine Club, I’m offering an opportunity to win a free month of Premium Club membership. That’s right. One of my readers (who enters, of course) can win two bottles of wine delivered to her (or his) home (unless your shipping address is in Utah. Then you need to send your winnings to a friend who lives elsewhere.)

The California Wine ClubTo enter: Follow @cawineclub, and tweet I followed @cawineclub and am entering to win wine at@justprecious http://wp.me/pHY8M-1eI.  Then comment here for your entry to be counted.

This giveaway ends on October 28 at 6 pm EST.  Winning prize must be shipped within the US, though not to Utah. Please refer to Just Precious’ giveaway terms for official rules.

The California Wine Club would also love a facebook like and another twitter follow of @boringwineguy. I promise, he’s not boring. (When you like them, you’ll get a $25 credit. So. Hello? Like them.)

I now anxiously await another shipment.

My wine cabinet is embarrassingly low at the moment. Not sure how that happened. So I’ll follow & tweet next. The pricing does seem very reasonable, esp. with your discount. It would make a great housewarming or wedding gift too!
