Game Night! Great games for preschool and up

board games for families

We all love the nights when we finish homework early, clean up dinner, get ready for bed and have a little extra time for family games. Disney Jake and the Never Land Pirates Who Shook Hook Game I was a little skeptical when I pulled this game out the other night. The images were bright and fun, but … [Read more...]

Holiday must-haves: boys ages 7-9

Our Hanukkah tradition is to give each  night a different theme. With eight nights, we need to provide different activities to keep us celebrating, and we don't give gifts all 8 nights (contrary to what some public school teachers may teach their students.) Last year, our 8 Nights of Hanukkah were celebrated early in the month of December. Due to the Hebrew calendar being different than the "regular" calendar, this year Hanukkah falls later and began last night. Hanukkah isn't all about … [Read more...]

Christmas or Hanukkah gifts: Mom (and wife) Chic

I've spent so much time trying to figure out what to gift other people this holiday that my head is spinning in Beyblades, Corolle dolls, arts and crafts, and wines, that when I was asked what I wanted this holiday, I replied with links to my kids’ wish lists online. Yeah. It’s that mom thing. What do I want this holiday? I took 20 minutes (which, ahem, means 1 less load of laundry folded) and made a list. All Mom wants for Christmas and Hannukah, the gimme gimme gimme, guilt-free, not … [Read more...]
