7 Books for Your Beach Bag

Howdy! I’m T from Traveling With T, a book lover and book blogger, and Julie has been so sweet to let me guest post today. We’re going to be chatting it up about beach reads for the summer – some I’ve read and loved and some that are actually in my beach bag awaiting to be read! Below are my recommendations for the best books to read on the beach this summer.

7 books for your beach bag or pool bag that you'll definitely want to read this summer

If you are like me, the moment the days start to get a bit longer- you begin to dream of the upcoming months of summer reading. The anticipation of the walk on the beach, feeling the sand between your toes and sitting down in that chair (with your cap and lots of SPF!) and opening the book- well, nothing is better.

Alas, the beach part of my Summer Reading list is not something I get to experience all the time- but to me, the beach and summer reads are linked. So, I take my books (and my beach bag) to the pool- and enjoy my reads in between dips of the cool and refreshing water!

The best thing about this list: whether you are a beach side babe, pool side chiller or more of lake/mountain gal- books are always the perfect accessory!

As night falls is on the list of 7 Beach Reads curated by Tamara for Julieversre

As Night Falls by Jenny Milchman:  perfect for fans of suspense/mystery/thriller and publishing today, June 30. From Amazon: From the acclaimed author of Ruin Falls and Cover of Snow comes a breathless new novel of psychological suspense about a dark, twisted turn of events that could shatter a family—a read perfect for fans of Gillian Flynn, Chris Bohjalian, and Nancy Pickard.

The Santangelos by Jackie Collins -- one of 7 beach reads recommended by Traveling with T for Julieverse

The Santangelos by Jackie Collins- Revenge, love, lust and Jackie Collins. This is Ms. Collins’ latest, debuting last month.

A is for Alibi by Sue Grafton, a recommendation for a summer beach read. Check out this list of must read books for this summer

A is for Alibi by Sue Grafton: As Sue Grafton approaches the release of her newest book, X, in the Kinsey Millhone series- fans (and new readers) may enjoy revisiting the PI and recall the beginning of her days.

The Guest Cottage is one of 7 recommended books for the beach or pool this summer. Check out the whole list

The Guest Cottage by Nancy Thayer:  While many of us book lovers define summer without an Elin Hilderbrand novel as “as a summer we want no part of,” Nancy Thayer takes on beach reading/beach setting with her own spin, giving readers a nice story that makes us appreciate  the long days of summer and the cool drink in our hand.

eight hundred grapes will be a perfect book to read at the pool. See 6 other recommendations for summer reading

Eight Hundred Grapes by Laura Dave. Secrets and wine. Sounds like a delightful read!  From Glamour’s review: “Need a vacation? Dave will transport you with mouthwatering lasagna, breathtaking vistas – and an unforgettable lesson in loyalty.”

Dorothea Benton Frank's 2015 novel makes the list of best beach reads for this summer. Check out the rest of the list

All the Single Ladies by Dorthea Benton Frank: Her covers always make me grin and eagerly anticipate that first really hot day of summer! New this summer, publishers are describing Benton Frank’s latest as an emotionally resonant novel that illuminates the power of friendship in women’s lives, and is filled with her trademark wit, poignant and timely themes, sassy, flesh-and-blood characters, and the steamy Southern atmosphere and beauty of her beloved Carolina Lowcountry.

A Hundred Summers is another of Beatriz Williams' Schuyler family novels-- it's a perfect book for your summer reading and makes the list of beach bag books on Julieverse

A Hundred Summers by Beatriz Williams was the first story in the Schuyler family saga. Historical fiction, love, lust, betrayal, and secrets! And the absolute most perfect shimmery looking cover! (Julie has been raving about this series since reading The Secret Life of Violet Grant last year. Each book can be read independently, but you’ll fall in love with these sisters and cousins and keep wanting more.)
