Julieverse Reads Must-Read Beach-Reads for this summer, curated by author Emily Liebert. Must Read All The Books

I’m a sucker for an enthralling beach read, even in the dead of winter. Though now that summer is fast approaching, I can practically feel the sand between my toes and the cool, sweet taste of a frozen daiquiri passing my lips, as I immerse myself in these hot new novels. Grab a towel and some serious SPF and join me!

Things You Won't Say by Sarah Pekkenan is on the Julieverse Reads Must-Read Beach Reads list for the summer

Things You Won’t Say by Sarah Pekkanen

How far would you go to save your family? This is the daunting question posed in Pekkanen’s sixth novel to date. The protagonist, Jamie Anderson’s world is turned upside down when she receives a call that there’s been a shooting at police headquarters, where her husband Mike works. Throw in another shooting—with Mike pulling the trigger—Jamie’s younger sister Lou, who’s forced to face her own demons, and Mike’s attention-seeking ex, and you have the recipe for a convoluted and captivating read.

The Rumor by Elin Hildebrand is on the list of must-read beach-reads for this summer

The Rumor by Elin Hilderbrand

Sometimes the truth is worse than the rumor. Which might very well be the case when it comes to Madeline King—a Nantucket based writer whose inspiration has vanished just as her bills have begun to pile high. And then there’s her best friend Grace whose time is spent tending to her enviable garden with the assistance of a sexy landscape architect. When Grace is forced to make a life-changing decision, it becomes clear that her predicament could hold the answer to Madeline’s redemption.

Summer Secrets by Jane Green, on the list of must-read beach-reads this summer

Summer Secrets by Jane Green

I’ve long been a devoted Jane Green fan, which is why I’m ecstatic about her seventeenth novel, Summer Secrets, which follows Cat who was a twenty-something woman living in London who had it all. Until she started drinking heavily. And until she discovered she had a father she never knew about, who was living in Nantucket. Now in her late thirties, Cat is sober, divorced, and trying to connect with her teenage daughter. She’s also prepared to face her past. Or so she thinks. After all, what happened that summer night could change her life forever.

The Status of All Things -- a must read for the beach this summer

The Status of All Things by Liz Fenton & Lisa Steinke

Imagine if you could rewrite your destiny by changing your Facebook status. When Kate’s fiancé Max dumps her right before their wedding day to pursue one of her closest friends (gasp!), she decides to blast it out to the world via social media. Oddly, as she continues to share her woes on Facebook, her updates begin to mirror real life. When Kate realizes that she can use this power to her advantage—to win back Max, things don’t go exactly as planned. And Kate is forced to question whether things are really best left to fate.

those secrets we keep by emily liebert

Those Secrets We Keep by Emily Liebert

Fine, so this one is mine! Typically I wouldn’t include my own novel, but since Julie was kind enough to insist, I feel it would be silly for me to choose this moment to be modest! Not to mention that I’m super excited about this, my fourth book, and I hope you’ll love reading it as much as I loved writing it. Long story short: Three women. Three lives. Three explosive secrets. When Sloane, Hillary, and Georgina unite for a three-week-long summer getaway in Lake George, the tensions run high. And they quickly discover that no secret can be kept forever….
