What I love about blogging (and what’s not so lovable): #VlogMom

This week’s question comes from Rajean of Because I Said So:

Favorite thing(s) about blogging & Pet Peeve(s) about blogging – no less than 1 and no more than 3 for each.

Anyone want to guess my favorite or least favorite things about blogging? Hint on the least favorites… I’m mentioned some of them in my Dear Bloggers, Please… post.

  1. Julie, I adore the enthusiasm you show in this vlog. You clearly love what you do and much of your feedback makes me realize all the hard work and time which goes into making a success out of blogging is why I’ve thrown my hat into the three ring circus. The topic, while I didn’t realize it at the time I submitted it, is timely with the story of how an online company like Yahoo is now banning working from home. It can be done with much success for both the individual and the company – for many of the reasons you discuss in your love for blogging, but it is not a good fit for everyone.

    • Thanks for commenting Rajean. It’s interesting because I’m one of the few women who isn’t offended by why Marissa Mayer did. I mean, she could be a bit flexible… like when *necessary* you can work from home, but my experience at Yahoo’s HQ is that their work is VERY much based on group work — and that it thrives in active discussions. Their campus was designed so that you wouldn’t want to go home. They have EVERYTHING you need there, to a fault. So, to me, as one who has been there, her “decree” made sense.

And it also defined why it wouldn’t be a good place for me to work…

  2. I love how you changed the way you added everything up.
Thanks for creating VlogMom because it’s allowed me to make some great connections too!
