It’s no secret I love to shop. It’s no secret I love to save. And it’s no secret that I find it hard to find time to do everything a busy mom’s life requires. I can’t imagine life without so much of modern technology, and, most of all, without a smartphone. Having the Internet in your pocket, plus all the amazing apps available, just makes life a million times easier.
3 apps you must have on your phone for shopping
Just say that you’re at a big, giant toy store and your kid starts begging for the new Nerf Firevision Football from Hasbro. It’s a perfect football weekend coming up and you know how much fun it will be to play with, but you don’t really want to spend the $24.95 asking price. So, you pull out your SmartPhone, scan the UPC symbol and seconds later, you see that it’s closing in an hour on eBay and the highest bid is $13.01. From there, you quickly make a bid, and then use your general eBay app to monitor the competing bids. If you’re lucky and you hit eBay on the right day, bam! You just saved money.
But, just say that you didn’t get it for under the price you want, and you still want to buy this football (for the kid… really.) RedLaser also tells you all the other places you can buy the football besides eBay and their prices (online and local). So, then you learn that at Amazon the football is only $19.99 and at Walmart it’s $19.97. So, you hop in your car and buy the football for less.
In seconds, you saved money and you’ve taught your child a valuable lesson in comparison price shopping. All from a single app.
Additionally, RedLaser helps you add items to your grocery list (by scanning) and has instant product reviews. (Available for iPhone, Android and Windows Phone.)
This is a fashionista dream. You’re shopping in a store that is way over budget (hello, Neiman’s) and you spot a dress that you adore. The price tag makes your mouth drop, but you are dying for that dress. So, you take out your iPhone, snap a photo, upload it to your eBay Fashion app and the app starts finding similar looks on eBay, based on the color or pattern.
This app also has a style gallery section that focuses on the latest hot styles that you can flip through, just like flipping through a fashion mag. But with the app, when you see something you love, tap it and find similar styles on eBay. And watch their Style Stories where other fashionistas share their favorite finds and you can tap on a style and, you guessed it, it will take you to similar finds on eBay. (Available for iPhone.)
My sister has an infant, and has, finally, embraced the idea of online shopping. (Funny how that happens, right?) So, she’s started shopping eBay and has been stressed how she has to sit in front of her computer all day, watching for bids and rebidding. Guess what, Little sis? There’s an eBay app that will make your heart skip a beat! With eBay’s app, you can take your eBay bidding on the road, so you can watch your bids from the park, Starbucks, the pediatrician office, anywhere. And when you’re outbid, a quick, easy click is all it will take to increase your bids, if you choose to do so.
With the eBay app, you can also list items to sell and research products. Plus, just like RedLaser, you can scan things in the store and find them listed on eBay. (Available for all mobile platforms).
