This week, one of my best, best, best friends tweeted me:
Are denim skirts still fashionable? Put mine on tonight then changed my mind. Wearing jeans instead in celebration of <90 degree weather!
My response
@hvymtlhipster isn’t the weather so fallish? Loving it, too. You’ll see denim skirts in pencil style this fall. Look for colors. Great topic— Julie(@JulieMPron) August 22, 2012
Are denim skirts still fashionable?
Denim skirts are being shown at varying lengths: mini (skinny-tight), knee-length (pencil-style) and long (full.) Teens are also wearing mini and knee-length skirts in the “skater” style which is more full.
If you’re wearing denim skirts this fall, pair them with booties, flats, platforms or boots, and, depending on the weather, with or without opaque tights. On top, wear peplum jackets or blouses for finished looks, or tuck in a tighter top and accessorize with a scarf.
Yes, you can dress up your denim. Darker, gray and blue denim skirts are on the floor at Loft and Banana Republic this fall and are being paired with tucked in blouses (no belts.)

I the the skirts above from BR and AT LOFT – they look so comfortable too!
I do, too. I’m really happy about the style this fall.
I knew you’d have the answer! Sadly, I think it means my skirt is out of date. Now I get to shop!
IDK, maybe we could make your skirt work… but that may require shopping for a whole new outfit to go with your old skirt. So a new skirt will be the “better” choice.
Love the red and the dark grey denim. Must find them and try them on, asap.
I really like the dark grey denim skirt. It’s on my must-have list for the fall.
