Okay. Look. I
never rarely wear aprons. Like, once in a blue moon will I actually have one on. But I can certainly list several times a week that I’m cooking when I spill jelly on the floor or splatter oil from a pan or poof flour through the air that I think “Ugh! Why didn’t I take the extra 30 seconds to take an apron out of the back of the cabinet and cover my clothes?!”
Why? Well. Because I don’t have any chic aprons. So. In honor of Cooking Week on Just Precious, I went “shopping” for some chic apron selections.
I started on etsy, where I found this adorable half apron from etsy shop owner, RupertsWoolies. The half apron ($17) featured here is so adorable that I’d hate to spill on it, too. Still, with something as cute as this, I’d be much more likely to keep it in the front of the cabinet.
I love two things about this apron: 1. It’s reversible, so if you get bored with one side… or stain that side… then you have a 2nd, new apron to wear! and 2. the big bow in the front. So cute! This reversible apron is by pamwares and retails for $40.
I was about to leave etsy, which is really, really hard when I noticed this apron by blossomgarden. Stunning doesn’t even begin to describe this one. Look at how perfectly it’s made to compliment your figure. Even the details from the bow on the top to the buttoned pocket on the skirt are sheer perfection in an apron. Of course, wearing this, a diner might begin to expect perfection in his food… so be forewarned.
Ignoring the tugging to stay, I googled aprons and was amazed at the variety of sites available. FlirtyAprons was among the top sites, so I had to check it out. Besides being cutesy and, yes, flirty, I love the double pockets in the front. My kitchen isn’t big enough to need pockets as I move around, but when I have to go out to grill and am balancing a platter, food, barbecue sauce, a huge bowl and utensils I can definitely see where big pockets on the front of an apron will help. (retails for $34.95).
Not an apron, but while I was perusing Jesse Steele’s apron website, of which there are many fantastic looking selections, I fell upon their rubber gloves. Another product that I fail to pull out (this time from the back of the cabinet beneath the sink), perhaps I’d be more inclined if they looked this good. Deco Dot Rubber Gloves with Bow retail for $11.95 and having a matching apron, mitts and towels.
