Last week, I posted a special 5 weeks meal plans, highlighting bloggers’ favorites. I got a little off-schedule (as I knew I would) but I can tell you that @coloradomom’s Gnocchi was fabulous and @mominthecity’s meatloaf easy and a crowd pleaser. I plan to make @AndreaUpdyke’s pile-up dinner sometime this week.
In case you missed it, here’s the link to the 5 weeks of bloggers’ favorite meals.
On the schedule for this week:
Week of June 27
Monday: Puerto Rican Carne Guisada. Modern Mami, Melanie, shared one of her favorite meals from her youth, with lots of instructions to explain. I’ve never made a Puerto Rican meal before. I’ll admit that I’m a little nervous that I’ll even find all the ingredients up here in western Philadelphia, but stretching my kids’ palattes is on the list of things I love to do at dinner. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to introduce the family to Puerto Rico culture.
Tuesday: Robin from Simple Green Organic Happy shared that her kids really like the BBQ Sausage & Cabbage Hot Pockets. She mentioned that it is good for quick reheating to-go–which will be perfect for leftovers. making extra!
Wednesday: Grilled Chicken Pitas from The Dish from Trish was recommended by Philly blogger Crissie who writes at Piccadilly Arts. This recipe sounds easy and good, so I’m trying it out. (Note: I can’t link directly to the recipe, so the link takes you to the general recipe webpage. Grilled Chicken Pitas is on the list.)
Thursday: leftovers
Holiday weekend: Angela from Blissfully Domestic recommended an entire meal that sounds perfect for a holiday dinner: BBQ Grilled Ribs with Spaghetti Squash Primavera and handmade ice cream for dessert
