Stella & Dot party, you're invited: Mom Chic

This week, I had the pleasure of hosting a Stella and Dot jewelry party with my very good friend, Michelle, as stylist. And style she did.

We talked about pairing up accessories so that you don’t do too much or too little. We played with different pieces, learning that one item may be worn 3 or more different ways. We played with colors and patterns, silvers and golds.

I’ve been saying for months that the right accessory will completely “chic-up” your outfit. Today, for example, I wore this necklace (below), but with a t-shirt and jeans. And? I looked completely jazzed–like I had somewhere to go, besides a Little League game and Mommy & Me.

So. My mom chic advice for today: Purchase one new accessory (or more! but at least one) for the spring season. Purchase something big and classy, that you can wear with quite a few outfits. Something you can wear with a t-shirt, a jacket and your favorite neckline. (I’d recommend a necklace, because if you’re only going to have one piece, a necklace is something attention getting that should frame and bring eyes to your face.)

Then, go to your closet and try on as many tops as you have time for. Play around for a bit and learn which pieces work with the accessory and which don’t.

Good job! You’ve accessorized and are now ready to go to the bus stop, Mom Chic!

I had a lovely time with my guests as we shopped Stella and Dot and talked accessories, style and fashion. And during the party, I took a few pictures for Michelle’s website. Of course, I couldn’t not share with you! But, I thought that it would be much more fun to share a party with my readers, too!

So… Welcome to my Stella and Dot Online Party!

Shannon and her daughter, picking favorites

The party is hosted online following this link, and using Just Precious as the hostess name. Here’s what we want you to do:

Shop around. Look through the Stella and Dot website, then come back here and tell us your favorite piece. Or ask a question about one that you aren’t sure about. For example, want to know how heavy the Bombeleo necklace is? (really, really heavy!) Ask in the comments. Want to know the real colors in the Copa Necklace? (turquoise, light green-ish yellow, kelly green and sea-green.) Ask. I know how hard it is to purchase without touching and feeling… but if there’s no Stella and Dot Stylist in your area, and you’re in love with an accessory, you need someone you can trust to answer your questions, right? So. Ask away.

Biased, but here’s the cutest Stella & Dot model, ever! (wearing the Charlotte Statement Necklace)

The party is open through April 30, and if things go really, really well, we’ll do another online party in the fall. What’s more? This month, Michelle is donating 10% of her profits to Breast Cancer Research. So know that anything you purchase through the party, benefits the research. So I welcome you to click to Michelle’s Stella and Dot page and then enter my First Name: Just, Last Name: Precious as the hostess… and shop away!

Oh! you want to know what I bought? Well…

2 weeks ago, I bought the necklace I’m wearing above, the Stella Vintage Link Necklace. And last week, I purchased the Olivia Pearl & Ribbon Necklace, which is so sweet. And both are attention getting… in a good way.

At my party, I bought the Penelope Necklace (to wear with my new Lilly Pulitzer dress), the Charlotte Charm Necklace (to wear with a new LOFT dress) next weekend, and the Sloan Enamel bracelet (again, with the Lilly dress.)

I also got the River Lariat, which I just love for the delicate simplicity that manages to become so unique at the same time. I’ve been eyeing up the Rio Triple Strand Coin Necklace for sometime, especially once I had it on. I’m not used to wearing long necklaces, but as soon as I was wearing it, I knew it worked. For fun, I got the Audrey Cluster Bracelet. Its really the only accessory I’ll need when I wear it. Plus, I have a beautiful, bold silver bracelet that I love to wear, so it was time to get a gold one. And I purchased one other, but it’s a surprise, because it’s not for me.

Now, the bigger question… what do you want to get? (and don’t forget, Mother’s Day is coming! So shop soon to get a gift in time for your special Mother’s Day Giftee. What would she want?)

As an online party hostess, I’ll receive a discount on purchases at the end of my party. Join our Fashion Friday link-up by adding your fashion, style or beauty post from this week to the link below.

I truly enjoy styling woman and helping them get their “happy look”. Every woman needs a statement piece for the season. Pick something bold and colorful and just have fun with it, Julie did this and she looks amazing.
    Happy Shopping!!!
